Tutorial: Integrate OptimizePress With Your Facebook Fan Page

Sometimes you just need a simple way to “create” a new Facebook fan page tab for getting likes, embedding videos generating leads or showcasing content to your Facebook fans.

If you have OptimizePress you can do this with just a few simple tweaks and in this video tutorial I’ll show you exactly how to do it…and the best part it takes just a few minutes and is absolutely free!

The codes you’ll need:

Iframe code (Remember to change the URL to point to your site):

<html><body><iframe src="http://YourSite.com" frameborder="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" width="100%" height="100%" scrolling="auto"></iframe></body></html>

The CSS code:

#footer{
display:none;
}
#launchfooter{
display:none;
}
#launchbk {
    background-image: none;
    background-repeat: repeat-y;
    padding-top: 10px;
   background-color:#fff;

}
#launchheaderbottom{
display:none;
}
body {
    background-color: #FFFFFF;
}
#wrapper {
    margin: 0 auto;
    width: 810px;
}
#launchinnermain {
    margin: 0 auto;
    padding: 0px;
    width: 810px;
}

    Great stuff Yoel. I purchased for a while Optimize Press and have not utilize it all when I shifted to Facebook Marketing. Now I can unsubcribe from a membership site that provides this kind of service for a hefty monthly fee.

    Thanks a lot.

    Thanks. I’ve been looking for a simple solution to create a fb tab for a while. One thing I would like to learn is, how do you change the fb tab image? I now have a Star.

    • Yoel Cohen September 20, 2012, 7:12 pm

      @Ralph – Do the following:

      1) Make sure your on your fan page
      2) Click the “Edit Page” -> “Update Info”
      3) Click the “Apps” on the left hand navigation
      4) You’ll see the star, click “Edit Settings” underneath.

      Thats it, you can now edit the icon AND link text.

    Awesome stuff Yoel! Thanks for sharing.

    Is there a fairly easy way to get a SFM page into a Facebook static HTML app?

    Thanks again,

    Steve

    • Yoel Cohen September 20, 2012, 7:04 pm

      @Steve – Sure, just click “Get Code” and use the “iframe For Facebook Timeline” code.

      Cheers!

    Quick Q. What happens when everybody’s using SSL connection with their FB surfing and that domain you iframed to the tab isn’t HTTPS, so it wont show for them, right? Atleast that’s what i have learned, that i must have all contents displayed on FB on SSL domain or is there a way around that? Right now i’m keeping my own & clients contents on my S3 acct.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated,
    Jay

    • Yoel Cohen September 23, 2012, 6:52 pm

      @Jay – When iFraming via HTML static iframe app, there is no need for SSL.

  • Yuri Stoyanov September 23, 2012, 1:51 am

    Yoel, thanks for sharing with us this quick, way and free way to have and update a Facebook page tab!

    Just wondering, can you not do this with Thesis, or any other theme as well, as long as you have the right Wordpress page template?

    Yuri

    • Yoel Cohen September 23, 2012, 6:53 pm

      @Yuri – It works with OptimizePress, but if you can edit themes then you can pretty much do this with every theme, but, only if you can remove elements from the theme and also “play around” with the css.

    This was just as professional and well thought out as all of our interactions regarding Social Funnel Machine. Thank you Yoel for sharing a great way to improve our FB pages with tools we (most of us) already have. Quick and to the point.
